Benefits of Vitamin D3

Vitamin D (or Vitamin D3) deficiency is becoming more and more common. Because of modern lifestyles that keep us inside 90% of the day every day, means that we are not getting the right amount of Vitamin D from the sun that our bodies require. It is very difficult to get the right amount of Vitamin D we need through our diets, the best way is standing in direct sunlight for 15 minutes a day. If you are not getting enough Vitamin D your body will have a more difficult time fighting off colds and other illnesses. If you are Vitamin D deficient you may even feel more tired throughout the day. Vitamin D also aids in the recovery of the bones, muscular growth, and blood conditions.

If you live in a colder area or have naturally darker skin you are at a higher risk of being deficient in Vitamin D. Also, if you are vegetarian or vegan you are at a higher risk of becoming Vitamin D deficient so it is important that you take a supplement. Oily fish is the most common food source containing Vitamin D, and if you are vegetarian or vegan that is why it is highly recommended that you add a Vitamin D3 supplement to your daily diet.

With the colder months approaching we tend to spend less time outside, and therefore getting less sun exposure. In addition, the colder months is when people often get sick with colds or the flu so now is a great time to add a Vitamin D3 supplement to your diet to help boost your immune system.

I would recommend taking 4 drops a day. The packaging says 1 drop per day, however, during the winter months your body will need more than usual. I usually put my drops in a glass of water every morning, you could even put them directly on your tongue and wash them down with water. Any method that works for you is great, but I would suggest taking them in the morning.
